This quarter students are working on a narrative essay for the district quarter assessment. They are required to have a story that describes a time in their life in which they were excited or surprised.
They must incorporate the use of dialogue, vivid description using sensory adjectives, varied transitions , good sentence structure,a good command of standard English grammar and conventions. By the end of the essay, the reader must be able to understand why this experience was memorable for the author.
Before the essay was started, mini lessons on sentence structure, dialogue writing and sensory detail were given.
